Astro Quest is India’s Largest Astronomy Test, a unique opportunity organized by SDRO (Scientific Development and Research Organization) for students to know their potential at all India level. We at SDRO design scientific and educational astronomy curriculum and content to improvise the level of astronomical skills in students. We are associated with 900 schools in all states and hosted 300 workshops and competitions annually that showcase innovative science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

How to Participate?

Registration of Students: The SDRO AQ18 is open to the students of classes 3 to 9. Registration forms are sent to all schools registered with SDRO by mail or post. Schools not registered may also request for prospectus by sending an e-mail at Schools must return the registration forms to SDRO, duly filled in and complete in all respects by the due date.

Roll Numbers: Roll Numbers/Admit Cards will be issued by SDRO AQ Team one week before the exam.

SDRO will register the applicant school and the students and dispatch guidelines for conducting the OMR based examination. Principals/teachers may please note that no fee is required from the institution to register.

Students should register through their respective schools only. Individual registrations by students are not accepted.

Test Pattern

The test will be organized in school premises for the participants during school hours.

Competition is an OMR objective-type test of 30 minutes duration comprising 25 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions for class 3 to class 5 and 35 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions for class 6 to class 9. Each correct answer carries 1 mark and a mark of 0.25 is deducted for each wrong answer.

Class 3 to 5:  25 Questions: 30 Minutes Class 6 to 9: 35 Questions: 30 Minutes

Test Date

Test will be organised in the month of January 2019 after the school reopens. Date will be announced soon.

Study Material

Each class will have a study material set according to their capability, general aptitude, and understanding. Study material will be sent to the school coordinators, which will be then shared with participants, as soon as the student registration is complete.


At National Level

1st Rank: Rs. 25000 + Gold Medal + Winner Certificate

2nd Rank: Rs. 12500 + Silver Medal + Winner Certificate

3rd Rank: Rs. 7500 + Bronze Medal + Winner Certificate

4-10 Rank: Rs. 1000 + Merit Certificate

11-25 Rank: Rs. 500 + Merit Certificate

 When there is the participation of 5 or more students from each class (inc. all sections): Gold Medal* in each class + Winner Certificate

When there is the participation of 10 or more students from each class (inc. all sections): Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal* in each class + Winner Certificate

Astro Guide Award for Teacher @National Level

Teachers will be recognized from each class for guiding the maximum number of participants to reach a level of merit: Citation and Award
